ThPA S.A. applies and implements an Environmental Monitoring Program in accordance with the requirements of the Approved Environmental Terms. In particular, a meteorological station and an air quality monitoring station which records the concentrations of pollutants in the atmospheric environment, operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in the area of the Central Port. On a six-monthly basis the quality of sea water is monitored and environmental noise measurements are repeated on an annual basis. All sampling and measurements are carried out by accredited laboratories and partners.

When the bus system of Thessaloniki was first established in 1957 all lines were numbered from the eastern to the western routes starting with 1. This applied to all routes from 1 to 29. However, after 1979 the rest of the lines were numbered based on the date of their creation.
